Pilates Studio Reservoir: STRONGROOM reformer Pilates class in session

How Often Should You Do Reformer Pilates to See Results?

It’s one of the most common questions we get at STRONGROOM, and honestly, it’s a really good one.

The short answer is: more than once a week, less than every single day. But let’s break that down properly, because the real answer depends on what you’re actually after.

If You’re Just Starting Out

Two classes a week is the sweet spot for beginners.

It gives your body enough time to learn the movements, build the foundational strength, and recover properly between sessions. Reformer Pilates works muscles you probably haven’t used in a while, sometimes muscles you didn’t know you had! so jumping in too hard too fast is a fast track to feeling sore and burnt out.

Start with two sessions a week for your first four to six weeks. Get familiar with the reformer, learn the cues, find your feet. Then reassess.

If You Want to See Real, Lasting Change

Three classes a week is where most people start to notice real results.

At this frequency you’re building strength consistently, your movement patterns are improving, your posture starts to shift, and your body begins to feel genuinely different, not just on the days you train, but all the time.

Three sessions a week also gives you enough variety to mix up your classes. At STRONGROOM that might look like two Reformer sessions and a STRONG Reformer, and a Stretch. That combination hits your body in different ways and keeps things interesting.

If You’re Training for a Specific Goal

If you’re working toward something specific, coming back from injury, building serious strength, improving your mobility, three to four sessions a week is worth considering. At this point it’s worth having a conversation with one of our instructors about how to structure your week so you’re getting the right mix of challenge and recovery.

What Actually Matters More Than Frequency

Consistency beats intensity every time.

Two classes a week, every week, for six months will get you further than five classes a week for three weeks and then nothing. The people who see the biggest changes at STRONGROOM aren’t the ones who go the hardest, they’re the ones who show up regularly, even when life gets busy.

So don’t aim for perfect. Aim for consistent.

The Honest Answer

Here’s the truth: you’ll feel something after your first class. You’ll notice a difference within two to three weeks. You’ll see real change within six to eight weeks of showing up consistently two to three times a week.

That’s not a long time. That’s less than two months to start feeling genuinely stronger, more mobile, and better in your body.
